In the UK, you simply register a new v5 logbook online or via a DVLA v62 form, this takes a few mins and is a simple process.
To register a new owner on a Spanish vehicle the process is more complex as there is paperwork and documents required such as a passport, proof of residency, an ITV (MOT), permission de circulation (logbook), etc. As well as this you will need to check with the local council that there are no outstanding fines or debts as all debts and fines are transferred to the new owner of the vehicle if there are any.
