The dangers of selling a Spanish vehicle

A lot of people selling their Spanish registered vehicle in the UK assume that the process is the same as if they were selling a UK registered vehicle, simply fill out a sales invoice, the buyer and seller sign and that’s pretty much it, this is not the case!

In the UK we are able to transfer a vehicle into a new owners name by simply applying for a new v5 logbook which can be done in a few mins online. This is not the case with a car that is registered in Spain and if the correct procedure is not followed when selling your car then you will be liable for any future fines or debts, even if you can show proof of a sales invoice, this is not enough and you will incur all ongoing costs.
